LOL. this ribbon is like so small...but yeps. supposed to post this to show my awareness for aids. hahaa.. it was world aids awareness [or something like that] day on 1dec. Haha! ribbon looks oddly familiar... which again reminds of something* =D
anyways, that's not the point. haha. just went for the CIP at Kallang. oh yeah, standard chartered marathon rocks larh. our job was only to go there, meet up at 230 AM.. and provide drinks to the runners. fullstop. but okay lah, i thought i was going to get serious backache from all the stretching over to put drinks but i felt okay =)
yeps. so we met up at 10pm at city hall... me, zhiwen, weijie, alvin and christina. wandered like some lost souls b4 settling at the macs in suntec. then jing jie came and we went around the world in eighty days. haiyo. weijie was so nice to accompany us all the way... although he's not down for the cip. >.< !!!
then we met anthony the lab tech at Kallang. so farni. everyone had quite a hard time believing he's not a student. [okay, not a full-time student] haha! especially alvin =D and to the extent he even requested for his IC ! but realli lor, he doesn't look his age. lol.
nothing much during the race... but the elite runners were quite scary. i mean, it was just beginning to light in the sky..when steven [our IC] walked down with his walkie talkie telling us the first runner is coming. then suddenly they just like, appeared.
omg, they were going at this insane pace larh. my station was at the 15km mark... and you see this truck with this huge board timing 45.00+ mins going past... then... i SERIOUSLY dun mean to be racist, but you see this GRP of black runners coming towards you. all looking like the other. the same long, slim frame, the botak head and long LONG legs. then i was just 0.o! think everyone was so shocked we forgot to cheer. then some of them broke out of their group and came towards the station. they were practically sprinting larh! =\ they just snatched the drinks we put out on the table, knocking over several other drinks at the same time, poured the drinks over their heads and went on. everything was over in a few seconds. lucky zhiwen didn't try to offer the drinks to the runners. i'll bet that his arm would have been ripped off.
and that was, lol, my first witness of professional runners.
then the rest of the time we were just filling and spreading the drinks on the table. there was this mad period of time when like, thousands of runners just came past. at first we even bothered to put the emptied bottles away properly, then we were just frantically filling up the cups and throwing the emptied bottles over our shoulders. and there was this pile of ice mountain bottles, haha, it really became an ice mountain, behind us when we finished.
quite a fun cip thing. haha! certainly beats the flag day type =)
mayb next year i'll go run the marathon. haha! the t-shirt super cool larh! XP
